Manage go-to-market plans for product releases
I use the template to create a new board for each product we release. I remove the items we won't need for specific releases. Then I assign tasks to members of our cross-functional go-to-market team. We use this board to share our progress on specific tasks, to share links to those working or completed tasks, and to keep ourselves honest and on track. Since using monday to keep track of our GTM plans, we haven't missed a release. We meet every monday (haha) to go over the board and see where we're making progress and where we're stuck. This way, we're able to collaborate and brainstorm solutions together.
Getting started tips
The groups show how we categorize each of the tasks on the board. The columns allow us to assign the tasks, show the status of each task, and share information about that task. We use the different colors so we can see where tasks stand at a glance. Team members using this board are a cross-functional group from the product and marketing teams.
"It keeps us on-track and collaborating! This was very hard to do before. "
Why we love this template
Everyone who's struggled to get a cross-functional team together to reach common goals such as a go-to-market plan should consider using a template like this. It's a common language that we can all get down with. It's a single space we can all use. It makes it easy to lead an effective 30 minute meeting every Monday, and it's easy to refer to when asking questions throughout the week.
Without this template I would
Without this template, I would be chasing around 6 different coworkers every day to see where they are on over a dozen different tasks I need completed for over 6 different product releases at a time. I would be searching through emails, slack, and jira to see where I discussed different task with this team. I would also lose my sanity and grace. This template makes it easy for me to say "it's on the board!"
